Being a Professional Artist is amazing. As a fine artists I always had a issue with the limitations of a gallery. One only a limited number of people would see your work, and it was just restrictive in its capacity for creation because it was just a room or series of walls. I had worked on a couple of large outdoor murals and had been fortunate enough to have a public art piece at a major museum. Public Art had me hooked but it was a very limited opportunity career choice. In other words I needed to get a job. As I left college I was lucky enough to get hired as sculptor for the Ringling Circus and Disney on Ice Productions. This blended perfectly with creating work that would be enjoyed by so many and getting paid. I loved it. I never even considered this option prior to this moment. I loved the team dynamic and it was great to be part of something that would take a very long time to accomplish by yourself. I was learning so much from everyone and eventually I was the one showing others how to do things. This projected me to work for some amazing companies along the way and to take on different roles as I matured. Eventually I found myself working for myself and had a great run as a professional artist working as Artists at Work traveling the nation making the world a little more scenic. So many stories and adventures to be shared. Thank you to those who found themselves in my path and to those who I still have th pleasure to meet.
